Oorvi Budhwar

Oorvi Budhwar is an Associate with the Center for Rising Generations (CRG), under the Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) at the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions. In this role, she supports research, program design, and partnerships aimed at increasing economic mobility for opportunity youth globally.

Previously, Oorvi served as a Fulbright grantee in southern Thailand, teaching English and leading youth programming in a rural community, while supporting regional programs through a partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in Bangkok. 

Her background includes programmatic and research work at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C., focusing on projects strengthening sustainability and economic policy development in Indian states. She began her career by interning with policymakers at the Virginia Capitol, and contributing to education access initiatives in Richmond schools through local nonprofits. 

Oorvi holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University. Guided by her experiences as an immigrant, she is committed to creating equitable education and sustainable economic pathways through community-led programs and policy development. An enthusiast of the arts and the outdoors, she enjoys traveling, experimenting with new recipes, and water activities.
